Vaccination is a non-negotiable part of responsible group boarding. Applewood requires every rabbit to have in-date protection against myxomatosis, RHD1 and RHD2 for the full length of the stay.
Your vet is the right person to recommend and administer vaccines for your individual rabbit. Applewood's timing rules are boarding-entry requirements and should not be read as personalised veterinary advice.
Protection required for every guest
The vaccination record must show current cover against myxomatosis, Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease variant 1 and Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease variant 2. Applewood's published boarding terms currently specify Nobivac Myxo-RHD PLUS. Ask before booking if your record uses a different vaccine name or schedule.
The final date on the record matters. A vaccine that expires while a rabbit is staying does not meet the requirement, even if it is valid on arrival day.

The 21-day and 8-day timing rules
A first vaccination, or a booster given after protection has lapsed, must be administered at least 21 full days before arrival. This gives time for protection to develop and for any post-vaccination concerns to become clear before boarding.
A routine booster given while the previous protection is still current must be administered at least 8 full days before arrival. Do not arrange a booster for the day before check-in.
Send a clear record early
Upload or email a clear image of the vaccination record as part of booking. The rabbit's identity, vaccine name, administration date, valid-until date and veterinary practice details should be readable.
Sending the record early leaves time to clarify a missing page or date. Applewood can refuse boarding when records do not meet the published requirements, so do not wait until arrival to check them.
Vaccination is only one part of being fit to board
A valid record does not make an unwell rabbit fit for boarding. Tell Applewood about contagious disease, respiratory symptoms, recent stasis, recent anaesthetic or surgery, dental work, current medication and any veterinary visit close to the stay.
Current terms do not allow boarding within 21 days of a general anaesthetic or major surgery, within 14 days of dental work, or within 10 days of gut stasis. Other recent illness may require a fit-to-board letter and a conversation before arrival.
Check both rabbits in a bonded pair
Each rabbit needs their own valid record. It is easy for dates to drift apart when bonded companions joined the family at different times, so check both names and both expiry dates.
If one companion cannot meet the requirement, contact Applewood before making plans. Do not split a stable bond or assume that only the vaccinated rabbit can arrive without discussing welfare and availability first.
If the dates do not work
Speak to your vet and Applewood as early as possible. A late vaccine cannot be solved by signing a waiver, and a booking cannot override the minimum interval.
Changing the holiday or boarding dates may be safer than rushing treatment. Booking changes remain subject to availability and the cancellation terms.
